The latter is just more "anti-China" garbage, whereas the real threat in geopolitical terms is the US and its lap-dogs in the EU and the West's hegemonic intentions, which they express daily. Neither China, Russia nor Iran have ever expressed any such intentions, with regard to AI or anything else. It's only the US that wants to sanction everyone into economic oblivion if they don't do what the US wants.
I see you're one of the few to note the problematic nature of Amodei's nonsense, even though you give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm not so charitable, so I don't.
We get the same crap from Altman, and it's equally annoying, especially when AI experts of considerably better pedigree in the science disagree about the capabilities of the present LLM technology.
